Well have made it to our tropical destination!

It was a long day yesterday but we handled it pretty well. The only frustrating thing was arriving at the airport to check in at 3.30am and to have to wait half an hour to do so. We did get three seats between the two of us plus extra leg room so it was kinda worth the wait. Flights were good and we slept most of the way to Sydney. I watch the sun come up and the sky line was spectacular. We stayed at Sydney airport for the duration of our 7 hour wait. We saw the harbour bridge and the opera house as we fly in and the weather was a bit rubbish so we sat in slightly uncomfortable chairs, had second breakfast (Damian wanted to check my toes to see I was starting to transform into a hobbit due to this request) and read. I completed the rather terrible but perfect for waiting in transit Kathy Rieches book. We also tried to stay awake. Flight to Cairns went without a hitch and we go to our accommodation at nightfall. It is pretty impressive place to stay I must say. Damian is poolside as I type. We had a lovely Italian meal last night of proper pizza and salad with a warm breeze and a guitar player singing away as we ate. We also saw a bat. We had a spa and then it was pretty much hit the sack as we were naturally very tired. Today has seen us sleep in, have a yummy fruit breakfast and a wander along the beach. There are lots of delicious restaurants to try and I can see it will be a holiday of good eating. We don't have much planned for the next few days. I have a spa treatment this afternoon and I imagine we will stay poolside until we next need to eat. I can't load photos up at the moment but when I can I will put some up.
